maintained this position heretofore.and
full to see why the matter is not
pressed. Linn county is working on a
road to drain the trade of these mines
forthebeuelU of Albany, while Ku
gene bss been sluing meekly by with
ber hands folded In her lap waiting
for the plum of trade to drop Into her
lap. But there la one thing certain,
that la, If something Is not dene, md
that something done immediately to
secure the completion of this road, Eu
gene will be the sufferer by the loss of
a trade that she will never be able to
regain. By this seeming apathy mine
owners and miners are urging Linn
county business men to hurriedly
oomplete their road.
We all knowj that for pluck and en
terprise, when aroused, Kugene stands
second to none In the state, but there
has been apathy on this road mat
ter, and now is the time for action.
A subscription paper has been put in
circulation and we shall soon ree what
the result will be.
