THE WHEAT SITUATION.
The Orange Judd Farmer, whiob
is generally on the bullish side of
the market, baa the following re
garding tbo wheat situation:
Our annual eatiuiato of the
amount of old wheat still on farms
July 1, is of espeoial interest this
year, In view of the probable short
age of the wheat otop of the present
year. The oounty estimates of our
looil reporters when carefully con
solidated Into stale averages show a
molerate holding of old whrat,
smaller than last year, but rather
larger than seemed probable earlier
in the season. The anrount re
ported to Orange Judd Farmor as
to held is 60,017,000 bushels,
against 65,000,000 bushels at this
date a year ago, and 25,000,000
bushels in 08. On March 1, we
reported the farm reserve of wheat
at 164,000,000 bushels, a figure
largor than was reported by other
authorities, but the movement since
that date and the present returns of
farm stocks indicate that this figure
was somewhat below the mark, and
that our oslimate of 665,000,000
bushels for tha crop of '99, while
higher than that made by any
other recoiinUed authority, was
from 25,000,000 to 30.000.000
