a long row of dingy buildings not far
ahead.

constraint that the old man admired.
"Why doesn't your father comohome
to his breakfast?" he asked.
"IIo goes to work at midnight and
quits nt noon," sho answered.
"And how far do you come?"
"About a mllo and a half."

to cross a vacant field that would savo
her a few steps. Amos watched her for
a moment as she sturdily stepped for

"Father thinks 1 should wenr my

My Dear Mary I find it Is quito impossible to
hold out any longer. 1 am growing old, and I

turned you two long, long years ago is open for
you and yours. Vou aro all I have in the world,
