winds have caused tne river to rise

The work on the upper liver done hy
the government a year ago has resulted
in much good to Lane county. Re
moving the snags and drift and rip
rapping ou the west side of the river
near Irving has kept the river in the
main channel. Iu at years every
little freshet caused an overflow and
with a little more work the stream
would be navigable lo Eugene most of
