A meeting of the citizens of Eugene
Is hereby called to appoint a commit
tee to act In conjunction with the
Firemen's committee appointed last
evening, for the purpose of taking
means for the proper celebration of the
coming Fourth of July, on Wednes
day evening, April 22, at 8 p m, at the
court house. Everybody invited to

river from Fall Creek In a boat, They
state that altogether over a million
feet of sawlogs went down the river
during the recent fresbet. About 600
or 700 of those logs belonged to the
Trent company and escaped from Lost
Creek. Messrs Renfro and Barbre
counted the logs lodged In the river as
they came down and report 1353 be
twen Fall Creek and this citj. Unless
another sudden rise in the river should
occur these can he saved. Mr Barbre
continued down the river in a boat as
far as Harrisburg today and will try to
make arrangements with the Harris
burg Lumber Conipauy to take what
logs are lodged between this place and
that city.
