The Last Night. Oracle Plalsted
and her musical comedy company ap
peared at the opera bouse Saturday
night In her favorite play, "Tina."
Though greeted by a very small house,
the play was put on in much better
shape than the one of the previous
night. All the characters were ad
mirably adapted totheirparts. "Tina"
has more of a plot aud fewer special
ties than "Chanticleer Hull," though
the solos and choruses of Saturday
night were highly pleasing. Little
Nina Cook, as Peek-a-boo, was the
audience's favorite and her singing
and dancing were greatly enjoyed.
Firemen's Meetino. The Eugene
(Ire department held a meeting Satur
day evening to consider the matter of
given a fl rumens tournament in this
city this spring. No definite conclu
sion was reached but it was decided to
appoint a committee consisting of
three from each of the different com
panies to confer with each other and
decide whether or not the tournament
shall be held. The committees will be
appointed and will meet in a few days
and will probably decide to hold t lie
