committee on arrangements to hold
preliminary heat in tbe 50, 100 and
220 yard dashes, the 440 yard run and
the 130 yard hurdle race. Two heats
will be run in each event, tbe first two
in each htat to run In the finals on
field day. Tbe beat in which each eon
testant is to run will be determined by
lot just before the preliminaries, with
the understanding that, the winners of
the tryout for Salem In each event
shall run in different heats. They shall
decide by lot in which ofthe two heats
each shall run.-
Tbe preliminaries will be run on the
campus Saturday, J-ioe 15, at 2 p. m.

grand Jury at 6 o'clock yesterday ofter
noen presented an indictment to the
circuit court against Henry Jordan,
"the capitalist'', for obtaining money
under false pretenses. He has entered
a plea of not guilty to the charge.
