The senate today, by a vjte of 46
to 4 0, auatained William Lorimer title to a scat in the senate,

Although the vol on the Lorimer case was not to occur
until 1 30 this afternoon, the galleries of the senate chamber

their place». Owing to tin fact that a majority of the commit­
tee on privileges and elections did not accompany its report
exonerating Lorimer with a resolution on which a vote could
be taken, th«- notion today was in connection with Beveridge’s
resolution, which declared Lorimer was not legally and duly
elected by th», Illinois legislature.
