People arriving here on the after­ noon train today from Halsey tell of the blowing up of the safe In M. V. Koontz's store there early this morning by robbers. One discharge of dynamite was heard about 2 O'clock and the other altout an hour later. Little was thought of It at the time, but when the proprietor of the store went to the place to open for business at the usual time this morn­ ing he found that the Interior of the building was nn entire wreck. The safe was badly damaged but the robbers were unable to get Into the cash box, where was kept a con­ siderable sum of money. They rifled the till of about $1.50 tn cash and took some merchandise, but the loss Is not great. The interior of tbe store in the vicinity of the safe ap­ peared as If a cyclone had struck It.
