July 3.—This town last night was the scene of a shooting affray in which eight men were shot, one fatally. Six of the men are alleged to have been shot by T. G. Earhart, an ex-convict, and who is known as a bad "man.” The seventh victim. W. H Escue, an aged man. said to be of Portland, Or., | was shot by members of the posse by mistake, and Earhart himself was shot in the back.
