SHRINERS will
COME TO EUGENE
IN SPECIAL TRAIN

The sun has been busy for the past |
week or more heating up the sands
«bout Eugene for the benefit of the

day will wend their painful way
across them to enter the sacred por­
tals of Shnnerdom, sav» ths Port­
land Journal.
In order to witness
the event the Shrlaers at Portland
gre going to Eugene in state and a
special train next Saturday, and the
inhabitants of Eugene are taking
precautions acocrtfingiy.
It is to be a great event, according
to the program laid out. The Shrin-
ers speiial will leave Portland at 8
o’clock Saturday morning, returning
at 6 o’clock Sunday morning.

A sad funeral took place at Frank­
lin on September 1st, when Mr. and
Mrs F. Bryant’s daughter was laid
away.
Pearl Edith Bryant, eldest
child of Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Bryant,
was born in Junction City, Lane
county, Oregon, April 27, 1903, de­
parted this life at Franklin, Or., Au­
gust 31. 1908, being at the time of
her death n years. 4 months and 1
lay« old. Pearl was a lovely child
and the home will seem very lone­
some without her, but heaven has
gained one more jewel, and we must
submit to the will of the Heavenly
Father, who doeth all things well
Her body rests In Franklin cemetery.
Funeral services were conducted by
F. C. Stephens, of Eugene. The fam­
ily extend their sincere thanks to all
