The boy, In company with
Watkins, another boy of about his
age, were out with their rifles near
their home at Comstock Saturday af­
ternoon. Both had been sitting on
the ground when the Clark hoy pull
ed his guu, u 32-20 Winchester, to
ward him, muzzle first. Th« hhninu r
caught on something and the piece
was discharged, the bullet entering
the lower part of his abdomen from
the front and emerging at the back.
The Injured boy was placed on the
train a few hours afterward and
brought to Eugene and placed In the
hospital with the hope of saving his
life, but he gradually grew weaker
and expired Sunday morning
Undertaker Gordon took charge
of the remains and shipped them to
Comstock Sunday afternoon for bur­
ial
