MAY ERECT CARSHOPS AT SPRINGFIELD The general opinion has been that the Willamette Valley Company doe» not Intend commencing the electric line in Lane county this year, but that opinion has been somewhat changed in the last few days. The sessions of the Christian Mis sionary convention of the central district of Oregon were full of inter est today and the attendance was much larger than expected consid ering the inclemency of the weather. There are in attendance at the con vention over 50 delegates from points outside of Eugene. The morning's session began with the usual devotional», followed by reports of the officers of the district. They showed that all departments are in splendid condition in every re- ■pact, The address by District Evan- gelist McCoaaell, who was unable to be present, was substituted by a number of impromptu addresses by members of the convention. These were followed at 10:30 o’clock by a splendid address toy Rev. J. J. Evans, of Albany, on ’The Place of the Child in Religious Effort,’’ and this by Rev. I). E. Olaon. of Cottage Grove,on ’’The Institutional Church.’’ Visit Divinity Hchuel. After the noon hour the delegates, at the Invitation of Dean E. C. Son- derson, visited the Divinity School. A meeting was held in the chapel and addresses delivered by Rev. Davis Er- rett, of Salem; ; Rev. J. J. Evans, of Albany; Rev. Albyn Hsson, of Sii verton; Rev. T. This afternoon's session began with reports of the churches In the district. As the name of exit church was called the pastor responded with an account of the work done during the past six montlis.
