Spaulding
Lumber
Company
has
bought the Independence sawmill
from F. A. Douty and the land ou
either side of tbs slough across the
river, leased by the same company.
The mill has been idle for the want
of logs, and much lumber has been
shipped in. The Spaulding company
operates mills above and below this
point, with one at Salem, and a
large body of timber on the Lmckis-
