“Uncle Jimmy’’ Kerr, who resides
alone in a cabin near th e Bohemia
mines, was last night beaten into
insensibility Ly three strange men
and robbed of about $590, which the
old man bail been saving up for years.
The assault occurred
about 8
o’clock. Shortly after that time some
of Kerr's neighbors called at bis cabin
aud found him lying on the floor iu
sensible. He was partially revived,
enough to tell how the assault oc
enrred. He could no' give a descrip
' i. ti of his assailants, but lid there
were three of th»m. They uo doubt
were acquainted with the old man
and knew that be kept hi money iu
his cabin.
Kerr is in a bad condition, but it
is thought he will recover.
Constable Lawsou get out for the
scene of the robliery this morning
and officers her» are on the lookout
for the thugs.
Kerr is au old man, nearly 80 years
of age, but is very spry for ono ol
his years.
