has been attempted in the city for
three years last night, shortly utter
12 o’clock.
The Hotel Rhein was the victim.
There were Hve masked robbers. They
entered the hotel and pointed a ;uu

along the wall and ordered to keep
quiet. The till was tapped for <45
aud then the proprietor was ordered
to open the safe.
The robbers appropriated all the
articles of value in the safe, conaist
iug of five watches, four rings, a gobi

The proprietor tired two shots after
the departing robbers after be was
released. No one was hit ami there
is no clue to the criminals.
