Sept. 10. — Tacoma exper ieii-ed the most daring holdup that has been attempted in the city for three years last night, shortly utter 12 o’clock. The Hotel Rhein was the victim. There were Hve masked robbers. They entered the hotel and pointed a ;uu at the propt ietor and »t three gi its in the lobby. They w re liued up along the wall and ordered to keep quiet. The till was tapped for <45 aud then the proprietor was ordered to open the safe. The robbers appropriated all the articles of value in the safe, conaist iug of five watches, four rings, a gobi nugget aud 1154V in cash. The proprietor tired two shots after the departing robbers after be was released. No one was hit ami there is no clue to the criminals.
