The graduation exercises of Dallas
College have been in progress this
week. It is notable that the rones for
the occasion were furnished from In
dejiendence. Mrs. John Osborne was a passenger
on the afternoon train to McMinn
villo Tuesday. She will visit at tho
homo of Hev. Mr. Honsaker who re
sides at that place.
The wedding bells ringing for the
Haptist again last week and the in
creasing demand for the home cook

is evidence of favor for both.
Rev. Curtis P. Coe, from McMinn
ville will preach at the Baptist church
in Independence next Sunday (June

Alaska. The new pastor of the church,
Rev. I. S. Leonard, will arrive in time

trimmed types intended for use with
the handsomest of street costumes.
Some of the daintiest of bridesmaids'
hats are developed in w hite and light
colored horsehairs, and tuscans are
expected to furnish the foundation tor
bonnets after Itouiney and other de
signs made famous by old world pic
tures. Cerise, which was used at first In
modest, quantities, suddenly flnres
brazenly from hats of every hue. A
black shape trimmed entirely with
widespread cerise w ings, for instance.
Is rather a weird combination, but
scarcely more striking than some of
the other millinery alliances, such as
black and w hite with burnt effects and
Copenhagen with red.
