Dr. Thompson of this city hopes to attend. The Knieht Templars of Salem will hold an Easter service next Sabbath afternoon. Rev. Dr. Thompson has been invited to de liver the address. J. N. Dennis, and Mr. and Mrs. Kinshaw of Falls City are in town today. They attended the organi zation of the Rathbone Sisters lodge last night. The Easter program will be rendered by the Sunday school in the morn ing. S. T. Haines, a new-comer from Knoxville, Tenn., hs leased the Jacob Brown place, six miles south of Independence. The Brown place has 165 acres in cultivation, 20 acres being in hops. Mr. Haines lived a while in Seattle before com ing to Oregon. The West Side Entetpkise has just completed the purchase of the new Americanized Encyclopedia 1904 edition, and it will be offered as first prize in the correspondent's contest. This encyclopedia consists of ten volumes, is richly bound and sells for $39. Points are counted on everything sent in. This is a illness, of consumption. Deceased premium worth working for.
