After the band concert Saturday
night, the Independence orchestra
will take charge of the opera hall
and dancing will follow.
Mrs. Ilanah Miller a?ed SO died
at her home in Buena Visla Wed
nesday morning of dropsy.

The remains of Mrs. Anna Bigler
were shipped to Amity lor burial
Wednesday. Mrs. Bigler died at
her home in Airlie, March 20th, of
asthma.
The first band concert of the
season will be given at the opera
houee Saturday night. This will
be the first opportunity to show an
interest in the proposed summer
band concerts by giving the band
the encouragement of your pres
ence on this occasion.
The St. Patricks' day dance
given by the W. R. C. at the audi
torium last Tuesday night was a

Thomay Pomeroy and John Pom
eroy is a nephew.
A letter received by Mrs. John
Fluke, from her son Ely, in Los
Angeles, states that L. C. Gilmore
formerly a resident of this city, was
mixed up in a runaway in San
Pedro recently and received injuries,
though not serious. Ely Fluke is
expected back in Oregon, within a
week or two.
Ice cream will be served at the
baiaar Thursday, March 31.

Cascade Lodge No 92, K. of P.
located at Falls City is showing
progress. It was organized two
months ago with nineteen mem
bers. Since then a lodge of Rath
bone sisters has been organized in
connection with it and last week
the lodge had exemplified the great
love ot Damon ana rythias on
which the order is founded by pro
duction of the classic Demon and
Pythias play.
