It has pupils from California Oregon. Washington, Nevada, Idaho, Mon tana and Alaska, and is prospering splennidly under Superintendent T. W. Potter. It is getting to be fashionable for banks to advertise, and it is to be hoped that after a while even law yers and doctors will see their way clear to take into their business a little of this vitalizing stuS that en ables a man to make his fortune in half a life time instead of a cent ury. Salem Journal. Arthur C. Lawrence, a well known traveling salesman was buried in Salem Sunday. He was traveling for Allen & Lewis of Port land and died suddenly in Nampa Idaho while on a business trip. The deceasad was a son of J. M. Lawrence the Salem groceryman, and a popular young man. The Oregon State Base-ball Lea gue was formed in Salem Saturday night with a membership of four teams Salem, Eugene, Roseburg and Vancouver. Paul Sroat is pres ident.
