Hunt- ley, who is toon to depart lor Cali fornia to spend the winter. A well arranged program was rendered, after which refreshments were sort ed, and cards and games formed a feature of the evening. Mrs. Joe Rogers acted as receding hostess, and Mrs. John Osburn as chape rone of the party. The decora tions were hangings of ferns, chry santhemums and mistletoe, under which Mrs. Joe Rogers and Mr. Mr. John Osburn amused the par ty by a comio cake-walk. Arthur Smith. Cooper, Geo. Grounds and the Buckner brothers, from Independence. After a jolly time playing games, supper was served. After supper the games were continued until a late hour, when they separated to their re spective homes. The proceeds amounted to $6, which will be appropriated to the M. E. Sunday school. , , A Social Gathering. Special from Buyer. On last Friday evening the pleas ant home of Mr. and Mrs. Gobat was the scene of a merry gathering of friends and neighbors. The eve ning was most enjoyably spent in dancing and playing games, and at a late hour a most delicious repast was served. Ritters was the most successful shot, winning four tur keys. Glenn Hiltibrand, Kuk Scrafiord and A. E. Tetherow made the only ciear scores. A good number got one and two turkey each. John Palmer did not get in very good shots, but he is all 0. K. at guessing the weight of a turkey. LITTLE LUCKIAMUTE. Peter Kurre is spending a few days with old friends in this vicin ity. J. W. Hiltibrand shipped a lot of dressed turkeys to Portland Sat urday. ' 'Fred Cockle has finished 'his contract to furnish the school dis trict with 11 ricks of wood. E. Chamberlain has been quite busy since the wind storm, clear ing up around his premises. Last Friday was a great day for butchering hogs in this section, there being about 60 head killed.
