Salem is raising a great hub-bub
about the state board of health's
report on its water supply. The
fact that over a hundred cases of
typhoid fever are reported by
Salem doctors is reason for think
ing something radical is wrong,
and Sslem should thank the board
for its criticism so the trouble can
be oorrected rather than condemn
it for showing where the ntihlin
health can be better protected. It
is not public spirit that urges on
to try to hide such things it is
public spirit in the persons who
will compel the water corporation
of Salem to give the people of our
capital city better service. For
many montns we have frequently
heard people who are familar with
Salem water condemn it severely.
