The following lines are written
in memory of Alex Kerr and dedi
cated to his bereaved family by
Mr. K. W. Swink:
O'er our home the cloud of sorrow
Hover like a midnight pall,
For the father who has loved us
Answer to the Master's call.
Oil the cruel blow that smote hlnj
Cftji-hfld our hearts In sudden woe
When the tired hands were folded
Fmootlied the hair like crimson
snow.
When the reaper with the sickle
Uuib'riu.r flowers and golden grain.
Paused beneath our sacred portals
All our hearts were rent in twain.
Then He spared the little children
In their vouth. to comfort Home;
But He called the name of "father,"
And He whinnered "will you come.'
Then he left us in life's eveniug
As the sun sinks in the west.
Iu God's Acre on the hillside
We have laid biuu there to rest.
We will meet him when the angela
Call to us from heaven's shore;
Let the broken hearts find comfort,
He's not lost but gone before.
