Polk County INCORPORATt. Monmouth, J. H. IIawlkv. I PremJent. 5 la C. PowitmC A petition to the county court now in session at Dallas has been circulated among our business men praying for the moving of tho bridge across the Luckiamute at this place 80 feet south from its present position in order to place it on a line with Bridge street. The condition that the petitioners shall furnish a T.O-foot lot on each side of the rivor fo' the bridge ends and approaches is included. thintrs develop gradually. It is found that the original plat of the city left no approach to the school house save the street which runs in front of the C. J. Pugh and back of the J. R. Moyer places. Later a street was made in front of the Moyer place along the brow of the hill, but the only streets dow n the hill are those which run past the Jonah Lowe house on the MOTOR LINE TIME TABLE.
