Mr. Dun t, an extensive Califor
nia hop buyer and grower, who is
looking over the hop field of Ore
gen, thinks hopa will go to SO
cents, lie says in the Telegram
''It is rather difficult to forecast
conditions or prices of hops in the
future, bat I am of the opinion
that before the first of next May
the price will reach 30 cents though
I don't think this price will be paid
before the first of the year though
some people do. I am an indepen
dent buyer and have 3100 bales in
California of my own growing. I
am not up here to excite the mar
ket neither am I here ia the in
terest of any firm, I am looking
oer this' country for hops and I'm
going to have them. Asked con
cerning the demand, he replied:
"The demand is strong. I am buy
ind hops for export and ship direct
to London. I will say furthtr that
the English market has not yet
really opened and when it does
open up there w ill be something
doing."
The fifty-seventh congress will

part of its work will be the passage
of the post check currency bills,
which provide for a practical aod

small sums of money by mail. A
great deal has been written on this
subject, and thero are few who do
not know that this method ia simp

The school was closed Mon
day to avoid the spreading of
the dread disease diptlieria
among the children. It is prob
able that no more school will bo
leld until after Thanksgiving,
as every possible precaution is
to be taken.
Owing to the danger in public
gatherings until the danger of a
preading of diptlieria has pass
ed, the entertainment which was
to have been given at the M. E.
Church last evening was post
poned. No Sunday School will
be held next Sunday lor the
same reason.
The banquet which was to
have been given next Saturday
evening in honor of the second
anniversary of the founding of
the I. O. O. r . lodge here has
been given up to avoid the dan
ger of a public gathering and
the possible spreading- of dip
tlieria thereby.

"Alia my first baby wai bom I did not
leero to regain my itrtnqlh although the
doctor gave me a tonic which he consid
ered very superior, but Instead ot getting
better I grew weaker every day. My hus
band insisted that I take Vine of Cardui
for a week and tee what it would do for
me. I did take the medicine and was very
grateful to find my strength and health
slowly returning. In two weeks I was out
of bed and in a month i was able to take
up my usual duties. I am very enthusi
astic in its praise.
Wine of Cardui reinforce the organs
of generation for the ordeal of preg
nancy and childbirth. It prevents mm
carriatre. No woman who takes Wine
of Cardni need fear the coming of her
child. If Mrs. Unrath had taken
Wine of Cardui before her baby came
she would not have been weakened as
she was. Her rapid recovery should
commend this great remedy to every
expectant mother. Wine of Cardui
regulates tne menstrual now.
