a carload of goats was shipped to
Troy, Montana. The Montana

chest, says he had been hunting
for goats everywhere and found
none that could equal the Wil
lamette Valley product. This
ought to be the best kind of en
courazement for Polk county
farmers to keep right on increasing
and improving their herds.

Samuel Orr, a prominent Polk
county hopgrower, who was in the
citv recently, says the Uregonian,
is of the opinion that the price of
hoDs will advance several cents per
nound and he advises all growers
to bold onto their crops for some
little time. Mr. Orr bases his pre
dictions upon the condition of the
foreign market and the local de
mand, which he says is stronger
than most people imagine. He
