First Contract of lta Kind.
Tacoma, Wash., Feh. 10. Gen
eral Harris and Charles W. Clark,
of Helena, Mont., today closed a
contract for the shipment of a
large amount of gold ore from
a Montana mine, owned by them,
to the Tacoma smelter. The con
tract contains a provision that, if
gold goes to a premium, the smel
ter's settlements with them shall
be made on that basis. It is said
to bo the first contract of the kind
