Oh, you circus day! Little Eugene
MacCarthy knew just the date on
which the circus was due. Hadn't he
been studying those posters for weeks
and didn't that big red "7" on the
bill boards whisper of all sorts of fun,
eiepnants and clowns, and bareback
riders and all those wonderful things
that go to make up that delight of
a small boy's heart the circus.
Now Eugene is nothing if not gen
erous, so, with Mr. MacCarthy as
chauffeur, and Mrs. MacCarthy as
chaperone, Eugene invited a whole
auto load of his young friends to en-

lotte Rose was to have addressed the
ladies on the subject of her recent
visit to England, but owini? to ill
health was unable to be present. The
ladies are hoping to have Mrs. Rose
with them on May 18th. when in
addition to her address several other
pleasing numbers will be nrespntpd.
At this meeting there will be a sil
ver offering to be applied on the
kcommunity house building fund. A
cordial invitation is extended to the
public.

was held at West Salem last Satur
day. In spite of the counter attri
