Mclnturff, will have charge of the editorial derartment Dr. Mclnturff is a capable man and is able to serve ths people in this capacity better than tha writer can possibly serve you. He has had wide experience in the editorial work, having previous ly been Identified with two different papers, and is a literary man of more than average' ability. We sincerely hope that the people of Independence will see the need of a live paper in the work of de veloping the resources of this vicinity and will give the Enterprise their unanimo.'s support. We have nqv regret in turning the paper over to these capable men. We have endeavored to give the peo ple of Independence a good paper, and our all absorbing desire has been to better the conditions of Indepen dence in every respect, but our ef forts have been met with discourage ments, possibly chief among -which is incapability. No paper can succeed and be a help to a community witri out patronage. No matter how capa ble the publisher, .his greatest ef forts will be of no avail without the earnest co-operation of the business men and citizens at large. And If you expect to maintain a live paper in your community a paper which will be a credit to the town and a help to your business you must en courage it. We have met with many warm friends in Independence, friends who have endeavored to be friends in the true sense of the word, and to you we extend our sincere thanks. Trusting that the people of Inde pendence will give the Enterprise A GREAT FARM BARGAIN Think of it! 67 acre nearly all li cultivation.
