Mrs. M. E. Connett was a passenger
to Independence Tuesday afternoon
WEST SALEM
The new M. E. parsonage Is pro
gressing fine with s'.x carpenters at
work the past week.
Grading was in progress tr.King
wood Park last week and nine lo'
were sold Monday. There are two
fine new bungalows being built in
the Park at present
Louis Beck was quite sick last
week. ,
Miss Etta Watters of Falls City,
visited with Miss Freda Spltzlast
Saturday.
ChasT Spltzlast bought a fine new
buggy last Saturday.
C. Spitzlast has set out eleven hun
dred prune trees during the past
month, on his farm west of here.
Mr. Fry and Mr. Breach and "fami
lies, moved to South Salem after a
short stay in West Salem.
There are five new houses being
built here at present.
On account of the Illness of Mrs.
Hamilton, there was no school here
three days of last week.
Mr. Severs Is entertaining the
mumps.
Ell Rhodes and family, of Indepen
dence, have moved Into the house
recently vacated by Mr. Fry and fam
ily. Wm.Squlres and family visited Sun
day with West Salem relatives.
