In saying class team the writer means all the subs and two jegular players on the college team. The locals entered the contest with tho understanding that they were playing the Corvallts Commercial Club but the line-up tells a different story. ' ' The field , wag tn a bad condition as there were pools of water all over the field, making the play very slow. First Period Corvallis lined up for the klckoff at '3: 45. ,P. Williams, receiving the ball on Corvallis ten-yard line, was unable to make much progress owing to the slippery condition of the field. The ball was downed on the twenty-five-yard Hue where the locals tried the line bucking game but this prov ing a failure they resorted to punting makinir in all forty-five yards. Second Period The second quarter was nearly the same as the first, being a punting game from start to finish. Williams for the O. A. C. got .goal from the twenty-yard line a few minutes before the ending of the quarter, giving Corvallis; a shade the better of the game. Third Period Corvallis again kicked off to Inde pendence, Newton receiving the ball on the twenty-yard line and carrying it for fifteen yards only to be downed by the visitors. McHenry did some eood punting at this stage of the game, making in ' all fifty yards to the good. The visitors succeeded in making thirty-five yards on a forward pass, but was held for downs, Indepen dence getting the ball. Here the ex citement ended as Independence wa unable to make much headway. Fourth Period The ball was put Into play on Cor vallis fifteen-yard line with them in possession of the ball. They were un able to make yardage, losing the ball to the locals on the fifteen-yard line. If this period had been five minutes longer Independence would have scored as the whistle ended the game with the ball seven yards from the visitors' goal. The final score was 3 to 0 O. A. C.
