Isn't there here a moral to be glean ed by other places? The moral Is, En courage home trade by all means. Tbe trade that Kes out of a town does not benefit It: It Is the trade that neekit and tlnda Its uatiirul outlet at huiue that helps. It counts not only for the hum who gets It. but fur the iiihu who pive It. for the hiner helps his neltlilor ax well an himself. ' ' The upllftliiK of ;be Keuerul level of prosperity whh b Is apt to follow keep InK trade at home helps every nniii and woman In u town by beepluu up wanes, by dttributliiK prntlts so that everybody In a town irets a share, direct or Indirect, of the lienefli. The mall order houses huve their place In the bunnies world, aud they do good to the men who run them, many of whom have accumulated much money Id tbe business. Bui when they take out of any pnrth ular town money thut should be spent there legitimately they cannot be said to be a beneflt to thnt town. In addition, there la the personal and social side of the question. Looking at It as fairly as you will, buying goods from a catalogue and sending to a strange, faraway city the monej that has been earned In one's homo town, often with the advice and .o operation of one's uelghhors. I u coli1 blooded proposition. How much better It Is to meet yom neighbor man to num. over your i-oun ter or over his. and nell to him or bu. from him what one n Is' If "life 1- mnde up of little things." as tin- been said very often.'' tli little Inetieill nesses and greetings of personal Inter course are worth soniethli . probHbl) more than the small profit that Is to be jrnlned by patronizing a house far Hway that can be nothing h"t the em hodlment of business." And In tunny raws' the monetary profit Is only Im aginary when the time and bother In volved in the transaction anil the real worth of goods tsaiglit are taken tut eonslderatiou. CI1AIM.KS N. l.riMF. I ncreased Livestock Production The Increase in livestock productio throughout the Northwest following ihe establishment! of a big market at rtland is shown in receipts at the local packing plants. One day last week receipts at the 'stockyards were er 4000 head. These animals were shipped from various localities in Or son. Washington. Idaho and Montana and such deliveries show that the monev formerly going east for large shipments of livestock is being kept iere at home. AT THE METHODIST CHURCH ; Next Sunday morning Hon. R. A.
