Walker, in honor of Mrs. D. A Hodge who with her family has removed to Saltn to reside. Mrs. Hodge is a iady whose many sterling qualities have endeared her to hosts of friends in Independence and her removal from this place is . keenly felt by all who know ber. Numbers of ladies called during the afternoon to pay their respects to Mrs. Hodge and bid her goodbye. The 'walker home looked beautiful with tasteful decorations of flowers and ferns. Dainty refreshments were served In the dining room where Mrs. A. Nel son and Mrs. F. A., Patterson poured tea and the Misses Ruth Hodge, Le ona Sperling and Marie Jones assist ed to waiting on the guests.
