Miss Blanche Mulkey and Fred Sloan were married at the residence of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Mulkey, at 3 o'clock Wednesday October 6. Rev. W. A. Wood per formed the ceremony. of the late Wayne Williams of Polk county. Only three weeks ago, sb visited relatives In Dallas and Alrll and at that time appeared to be I the best of health. Miss Poling was seventeen years of age and a most charming young woman. Her early death Is mourned by a wide circle of friends. Prather's auction sale held at his farm one mile south of Buena Tuesday, was a decided success, he having disposed of everything that waa offered for sale. It Is reported that Buena Is to have a new butcher shop soon, an adjunct that will be welcomed by all of our citizens. The Buena Vista public schools started off Monday with a good at tendance. O. N. There's a bet- Irene Poling Dies Many homes In Polk county were saddened Sunday by the news that Miss Irene Poling toad died at a hos pital In The Dalles. Her death was caused by appendicitis. Miss Poling was the daughter of the Reverend and Mrs. D. V.
