COME TO GRIEF
Two married women of Corvallis
were fined $10 each this morning for
being out after 12 o'clock, a young
man of this city paid another $10, and
aj Albany sport is now out on $-o
cash bail. The parties were picked
un on First street last niht afror
' their return from Albany and while
the men were trying to sober up the
women sufficiently to get them home
in a fairly presentable condition. Both
of the women are mothers of children
and one is the wife of a husband hav
ing a good reputation in this city.
The other woman is a guest at this'
home. The young man who put up
$10 isn't noted for any Sunday school
disposition, and little is known of
the Albany sport who put up the $25
bail. He will probably not return to
stand trial.
Judge Denman was called up at 4
o'clock this morning and asked to j
hold court that the affair could be j
ever before daylight, but that official
demurred and ted the officials to get
cash bail from them or land them
In jail until the proper time to hold
court. The officials couldn't get the
money and were too tender-hearted
to put them in jail, so kept them at
police headquarters until Judge Den
man appeared early in the morning.
Rather i!.:ui charge the parly with
anv more serious misdemeanor, it wai
decldd that they should be fined fir ,

being cut after IS o'clock. The wo
u.i"i were quite "'sassy.' but Judge
Dei, man cave I hem a letcute Unit

band of one of the women put up the
fin.; for both of them.
Jii'Ige. Denman suggests that there
are ;-'f..ng to be other arr ets of the j
la id MKHit r or later. The "Joy rules" j
some of thi! young men and women
arc inclined to take at late hours do
