I Vardemon Scott, formerly a real
I dent of Monmouth, died at bis home
In north Salem May 2, 1910, aged
fifty two years and twenty-seven
days.
Mr. Scott Vas born In Wayne coun
ty, Iowa, April 5, 18.18. He crossed
the plains with his people In 1865 and
settled near Dayton. Yamhill county.
He was married to Miss Sina K. Mc
Donald at Dayton, October 10, 1S88.
To this union were born two daugh
ters, Ada and Wretba, both of whom
are living.
Mr. Scott united with the Christian
church at Rlckreall under the preac
Ing of Elder John Roberts. Ills wife
died about five years ago. Besides
bis two daughters, he leaves to mourn
his loss, two brothers and two sisters
besides other relatives and friends.
The funeral services were held at
Hopewell May i. Rev, W. A. Wood
of Monmouth officiating. The remain
were laid to rast In Hopewell ceme
tery, beside hU father and mother,
