GLEE CLUB MUCH ENJOYED
(Continued from first page.)
club captured the audience from the
start. They were compelled to give
encore after encore to satisfy their
captives. Occasionally they had one
of their number, Mr. Perry Rlgelman,
step out alone and give some very
humorous and taking readings. "No.
5 Collect Street" alone was worth
the price of admission. The. young
mani also showed the ladies how to
sew. After It was thought that he
had displayed his powers sufficiently
it was decided to send out Mr. Luke
Rader who gave the local young peo
ple excellent lessons in laughing.
It Is presumed that Mr. Rader, by
virtue of his w-ry genial nature Ims
laughed so much In his Ilfu that he i
has certainly fully mastered all the i
complicated Intricacies connected
therewith. The male quartette was al
so sent forth. With voices blending
Into out excellent harmony they held
the fort for a season. Hut It was or-1
dalned for the glee club to return.'
After giving number of iiloctions
which were highly appreciated "t'Tj
gave a few grand old college sons
closing with "Oh Take Me Dork," one
that could liol fail to molxteti the
ye of all who have ever spent any
tlmo In college. Ulglit here the boys
had their grips so tightened upon the
people that none could escape. After
capturing the people by battle No. 1
they soothed the sorrows of all their
captives by a very laughable farce.
Hi jo ii It was time to say farewell
and the glee club returned via the
steamer Independence to Salem. They
wou the hearts of the city and are
truly welcomed back.
