HIGHLAND NEWS Mr. Ballard last week moved his family to the farm which he recently purchased of F. W. Smith of this place. All Join In : extending to Mr. Ballard and family the glad hand of fellowship and neighborly welcome. It was certainly a great loss to this community as well as. to the school when F. Valllere and family left this place for California but our loss here will be a gain to the community in which they make their future home. Gail Alexander and Lonor Compton drove to Albany Saturday to visit friends and relatives. They returned Monday. Miss Amy McKinney has been quite ill with pleurisy. Peter Shafer and daughter Ethel left on the 10:50 train Sunday for Corvallis where they will visit for a few days.
