Arrangements have been made with
an Oreg..r. City foot ball team for a
gamo to be played in this city next
Sunday afternoon between that team
and the team of Independence Ath
letic Club of this city. The manage
ment of tho (dub assures the people
that the Sunday game will be one of
tho best ever witnessed In Indepen
dence. The attendance at this game
will no doubt be large as it will be
one of the last games of the season.
Independence has one of the best
teams of the country and It has de
feated every one that has come up

day by Sh-rlff Crant, and F. S. Wil

stockholders in the company.
The Home Te lephone Company was
organized a year ago last March by
local people, mohtly of Independence,
with a capital s'ock of lio.ouo.
H'.ou of this amount was subscribed
at or about the (line of organization.
On completion of the system It was
found that the cost of the plant was
much in excess of the first estimates
and attempts were made to sell suf
ficient stock to take up the swollen
btidg.'t of xp use in the construction
of the systnii. Th company failed
to sell their stock and no disposition
of the outstanding accounts was ever
mad up tV the time of the serving
of the Injiinnction by the sheriff.
It la understood that an effort, will
bo made by the stockholders to clear
the company's plant of the Injunc
tion wh-n the matter comes up for
hearing at Dallas tho first of the
week.
