The Legislative act prohibiting wholesale as well as retail sale or liquor in the State of Tennessee was upheld except as regards sales for shipment ou'side of the state, in an opinion handed down , in Chancery Court at Chattanooga by Chancellor T. M. McConnell. In other yards spraying did not seem to kill the hop lice. A number of yards have been plowed up and set out to orchard. The late frosts caught many of the vines and they opened up very uneven this year. The usual price of 50c a box was paid for picking and as many of the growers have already contracted their hops for two and even three years ahead, so to them the outlook is very discouraging.
