Kdlto Republican Dear old friends,,!
thought I would drop you a few lines
to tell you tbat we arrived here after
a Journey of four we?kg and twul (iayt
on June 10th, all O. K., and as 1 have
many old friends in Rice county I
thought perhaps you would Inform
them through the old reliablfi paper
that we think we are In one of the
finest climates and prettiest counties
on the Pacific coast. It soems very
strange to us to read of the hot
weather there, when It is so pleasant
here, it Is jut cool enough In the
day-time to be pleasant, and at night
we can pleasantly rest for about ten
hours under two covers. We had a
fine trip. Was nearly thre? weeks in
California. I am now in the real es
tate business. I will send you one of
our lists which will describe the valley
very well. Our business is rather dull
Just now, but we are looking for" emi
gration this fall. I see by the Repub
lican that Frank Hoyt has been near
here. Wished he had dropped In and
seen us. Well, 1 will close. With re
gards and best wishes, I remain ever
your friend, E. C. DAVIS.
There Is more catarrh in this sec
tion of the country than all other dis
eases put together, and until the last
few years was supposed to be incur
able. For a great many years doctor!
pronouueed it a local disease and pre
scribed local remedies, and by con
stantly failing to cure with local treat
ment, pronounced it incurable. Sci
ence has proven catarrh to be a con
stitutional disease and therefore re
quires constitutional treatment.. Hall'

More Fishers Than JHunters.
Up to dale County Clerk Smith
has issued 244 licenses to persons
who want to' fish and t"- to Uiose who
prefer hunting '.is a taot time. Al
though the numbvr oi fishers licenses
issued increases its lead over hunt
ers licenses daily, the county clerk
predicts that this will not be the case
very long and eenis to be of the opin
ion that the issuance of licenses in
those two departments will be about
equal by the clos. ot the year 1909.
The reason for this is that the fish-:
lug season is at its height at the
present time and that the real season
for hunting has not yet begun.
A Night Rider's Raid I
