Well's interest in the meat market
here.
Mr. Stewart of Jefferson purchased
several milch cows In this vicinity
one day this week.
MONMOUTH
Dr. Crowley has disposed of his
residence proprty to Mr. Baker, the
local warehouse man, who will take
possession immediately. Dr. Crowley
will move hla family to Portland to rt
reside. He will continue his office
here and will also have an office In
Portland.
Earl Gardner returned to his home
at this place after three months
profitably spent In Portland.
Mrs. J. L. Murphy is visiting in
Portland this week.
Sheep shearing is now in order in
this vicinity, a fine clip being pro
duced. There are no scrub sheep in
the country as of yore. Most of the
sheep are well cared for now where
as they were allowed to starve to
death in many instances. We are glad
to know we do not have so much chii
ship-shod farming these days.
Archie McNeal returned to Mon
mouth to spend the summer after a
winter in Cove, Marion county. He
liked the change very much.
T. J. Pettlt is moving his family to
Corvallis this week where they will
live. His son and daughter will at
tend the O. A. C.
A, F. Clark and family now live on
College Avenue in the Powell res
Mrs. Cartmell still continues to be
an invalid with heart trouble.
