the Polk County Poultry Association,

weather for Polk county, the attend
ance so far has not been as large as
desired, but tomorrow is expected to

rooster and his mate. There will be
no admission fee charged to anyone.

children. We are unable at the time

Sheridan Sun: Valentine Sears
was born in (what was then) Floyd
county, Indiana, December 9, 1825.
While a young man he was married
to Sarah Ann Boston. Himself, wife
and family of two sons emigrated to
Oregon in 1853. They settled at Salt
Creek, Polk county. Afterwards they
moved to Tillamook county, where
his faithful help-mate died In 1883.
After residing In Tillamook county a
few years he again came to Polk
county. He died at Ballston Decem
ber 14, 1908, aged 83 years and 5
days. He Is survived by bis two
sons. Jonathan of Hlllsboro, and Chas.
of Tillamook county; six grand
children and six great-grandchildren.
