Kicked Out by the Mayor.
Vancouver, B. C., Nov. 8. Mayor
George Rae, of . South Vancouver,
took an offending alderman by the
nape of the neck yesterday afternoon
during the course of a council meet
ing and threw him bodily out of the
front door of the city hall.
The incident followed a wordy row.
Rae was commenting upon the re
port of a committee which was ar
ranging for the building or a new
electric line. He gave a casting vote
in favor of the adoption of the com
mittee's report. Timms, the alder
man, objected to the action and conv
mented caustically upon the Mayor's
ignoranco of procedure.
The Mayor calmly walked around
the table, picked Timms out of his
chair and threw him out doors. He
rolled down the front steps, return
ing by another door, but took no part
In the meeting.
