The person selected to represent

This will be through a competitive

THE VESPERTINE PROGRAM
The Vespertines gave a very unique
program Thursday evening, Novem
ber 22. The Indian features were a
variation from the usual type of
Thanksgiving entertainments.
The
legend of Hiawatha was portrayed
and some Indian dances were intro
duced. Originality was one of the
best features o f the program and
many were heard to express their
appreciation of the ideas it gave
them.
The numbers were cleverly
portrayed and enjoyed by everyone.
The games between the Junior and
Senior women have started.
The
first game of the season was played
Wednesday, November 21.
There
was much anticipation upon the part
of the students as the teams are
very evenly matched.
The Seniors
were handicapped by having to play
a new girl as running center as the
regular player was ill.
At the e»d
of the first third the Seniors were in
the lead with a score of 8 to 6. Dur
ing the second third the Juniors ral
lied and brought the score up to 19
to 16. As the teams took their plac
es for the final third the excitement
of the students was manifested in
their cheering.
Although the Sen
iors played a hard -. ajwi. consistent

Waitresses Demonstrate Ability To office.
Sing As Well As Serve
For Sale— Ash and Oak cord wood.
Sunday, November 25, the girls
at the O. N. S. Dormitory were great
ly surprised and elated over what
happened at dinner on that particular
day.
Filing into the dining room as
usual and taking their places at the
tables, the girls waited to be served.
Soon the doors of the kitchen opened
and the waitresses filed in, the head
waitress was carrying a huge roast
turkey.
Boys you should have
seen those waitresses, you certainly
would want a waitress for the one
woman.
They were very becoming
ly dressed in black dresses, white
aprons and black and white caps, a
very pretty group o f girls indeed.
After all the waitresses had marched
into the dining room, they lined up
and sang a very clever song of their
own composition.
After this the most delicious din
ner was served.
Everyone was in
the best of spirits and many songs
were sung by the girls.
The faculty
members sang some songs in honor
of O. A. C.’s victory.
The girls certainly appreciated the
delicious repast and praised the
heads of the Dormitory for their
thoughtfulness of the girls’ welfare,
and never was a Thanksgiving dinner
more enjoyed.
