Compare Our Fixtures with Others
There's a big difference in the "fixtures" you get at the
prices asked for different sOos.
Compare fixtures when you buy a silo. It is the fix-1
lures that make a silo. Durability, security and stability
are determined by the anchorage, the size, quality and
number of cables, hoops, lugs and staples. Convenience
and ease of getting at your silage for use are determined
by the door and ladder construction.
Mn sOos are priced without hinged doors or ladders.
Ia other .words, you pay as "extras" for necessary con
veniences without which your silo is incomplete.
Notwithstanding our lower price, we include more and
better fixtures than many who ask more for their silos.
In some cases we supply more of a given item than
others, as in anchorage cable. In others, our fixtures
are stronger or better in whatever vital point deter
mines their value.
Keep this ad and check our fixtures as described above,
with those offered by other silos. Don't pay more and get

While no one wants to see the
railroads operated as they were be
fore the war with the grotesque
features which sprung up from the
effort to enforce competition, most
people are agreed that the time Is
about ripe for a return to private
lirection. Given a national super
vision which will guarantee a square
deal to all sections the railroads
may now be allowed to enter a new
era of development and usefulness.
The special peace edition of the
Salem Statesman which was issued
within the past week is typographi
cally a very creditable production
and one which will be cherished by
the many who appear therein, their
relatives and friends. It is odd
however to see a so-called "Roll of
Honor" of the dead in the war
which gives the name of only one
of the five soldiers who joined the
army from Monmouth and made
the supreme sacrifice in the great
struggle. The name of Roy John
son appears, but Joe Clark, Theo
dore Holloway, John Dalrymple
and Archie Davis are not mentioned.

Speaking of the complaint that
the designation of the route of the
highway from Holmes gap to the
Benton county line was not spe
cifically described on the election
call, the Polk County Observer
says, "the county court has no say
regarding the route of the West
Side Highway, that devolving on
the highway commission, hence the
latitude given that body in designa
ting the route for the special elec
tion." This is what might be called
a specious explanation. But the
state commission had already an.
nounced the route. More to the
point, the agreement in Dallas was
based cn their decision. For aside
from what the state gave us Mon
mouth got very little consideration
at the hands of the convention.
