chase the necessary supplies to

Monmouth Boy Scouts are to
have a Council of elders, a meet
ing to organize the same to be
held Friday night The boys have
no scout master yet but will
make a choice in a short time.
The scouts are all interested in
their work and a successful year
is apparently ahead of them.

The office of the Herald was
movec) on Monday of this week
from the Boulden building to its
new quarters. The Boulden
building, we understand is to be
occupied by Mrs. Brewster and
Mrs. Eggleston as a restaurant.
The Grange holds its regular
meeting at their hall Saturday,
business meeting at 10:30 with a
grange dinner at noon. The after
noon program begins at 1:30 and
consists of musical and educa
tional numbers. The public is
cordially invited to the program.

Miss Mabel Smith spent the
Institute vacation with her grand
mother in Dallas.
Word was received here this
week of the death of Mrs. Wm.
Archer at Lake View, her death
occurring October 3rd. Mrs.
Archer is better known to Mon
mouth people as Miss Mabel
Snelling. She is a graduate of
the Normal. No details as to the
cause of her death were received.

Lloyd Waller of Corvallis was
a visitor in Monmouth this week.
Ted McKenzie of Airlie was
a Monmouth visitor Tuesday.
The amendments to be voted
on at the coming election will be
discussed at the Evangelical
church next Sunday evening. An
interesting time is anticipated
and all are invited to attend and
participate in the discussion.
The Monmouth Co-operative
Creamery appears to be getting
to the front with both feet Dur
ing August and September, the
two lean months, locally in the
dairy business this creamery paid
1 1-2 cents per pound over the
market price. The company is
in a flourishing condition, has
sold nearly all of its stock and is
growing both in the number of
patrons and in amount of sales.
On account of the excellent quali
ty of its product its butter is in
demand.
Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Baker of
Newport have been visiting at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. H.
Lorence during the past week.
Mrs. Baker came here from New
berg Friday and Mr. Baker drove
in Sunday from a hunting trip in
northern California. They left
Monday for their home.
Earl White autoed to Yamhill
Saturday evening after Mrs.
White who has been visiting her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. L Mur
dock. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Scheible
and Mrs. D. E. Stitt accompanied
him on the trip. On Sunday, in
company with Frank Murdock
and Lee Griner, the men went
hunting and succeeded in bagging
fourteen pheasants.

from its intersection with East St to
