The mill of the Great Western
Lumber comoany at Black Rock,
after a long shut down, is now
operating, cutting logs on hand.
The plant will shut down again
as soon as these logs have been
converted into lumber. Jay S.
Hamilton, of Portland is the prin
cipal owner of the mill. Mr. Ham
ilton savs that the mill will be op
erated steadily when lumber
values advance to a level that
will warrant the cutting of stump-
