be within our grasp, " be said. "I
believe Cod's hands are holding
the reins of the government of

He read the following resolu
tion which was unanimously
adopted by the congregation:
"Whereas the world is now ar
rayed in deadly conflict without
stificient cause, and it now ap
pears that the situation is beyond
human control or interference,
and that only by the interposition
of divine power it may be soft
ened and tempered with peace on
earth and good will to men, there
fore, be it
"Resolved, That the Christian
people of the world unite in one
unanimous supplication, in earn
est prayer, to Almighty God for
immediate interference in bring
ing permanent peace and the dis
armament of all warring forces
of all nations; and that for such
purpose, Sunday, August 23, 1914.
